DoWatYou can use DoWat without an account. Which information leaves your device depends on the features you use. Technical error diagnostics also run without an account.
Without an account
Tasks and settings stay in the browser or app you are using. They do not automatically appear on another device. Clearing app or browser data can remove that local copy.
Apple calendars are read on your iPhone. For an ICS link, the DoWat server fetches the calendar for you, which requires sending it the private link. A normal calendar connection does not give other DoWat users access to your appointments.
With an account
Tasks are stored under your account and synced between signed-in devices. Connected services may require additional credentials. A Google calendar selection belongs to your account; a local Apple or ICS selection applies to that device.
Not all settings sync. On a new device, check your calendars, planning hours, and reminders in particular.
When you use AI
Only an explicitly requested AI action sends the displayed text to the selected provider. Normal task capture does not need AI. Before a request, you can see which provider is used and how usage is billed.
Your own AI keys are encrypted in storage. A monthly usage counter manages your allowance. Review AI suggestions before accepting them. More about capture.
Claude and ChatGPT
An authorised connection can send tasks to DoWat and manage suggestions that have not yet been collected. It cannot read your existing task list or calendar. Disconnect it in Settings whenever you choose.
Open DoWat after sending tasks so they can be collected. Uncollected tasks expire after 24 hours and may be lost if the server restarts.
Technical error diagnostics
DoWat reports technical errors to Thermite on a VPS in the EU. Reports can include error messages, stack traces, app version, and technical device details. In the browser, they include the browser identifier and page address open at startup. Previous technical logs can be included as context; this log history is disabled on the shared server.
Diagnostics run without an account too. We do not attach an account identifier or your entire task list. Error messages and page addresses can nevertheless contain personal information. Transmission also involves your IP address. Random session identifiers and error status help assess version stability. Clicks, keystrokes, and screen views are not recorded.
Error reports are automatically cleaned up after 90 days. Aggregate error counts may remain longer. For questions or to object, use Contact & feedback. The privacy policy explains the processing in detail.
Export and delete
Under Settings → Your data, export or delete your server data. Saved credentials are excluded from the export.
Delete server data removes tasks and connections from the server and signs you out. The device copy remains. The AI usage counter stays until the end of the month. This action does not delete your sign-in account. For complete account deletion, use the contact in the imprint.
