Time to get back into a task

Why free time is not always uninterrupted focus time

After a meeting or a switch to another task, you may need a moment to get back into your work. DoWat accounts for this in its planning estimates.

An estimate for your plan

One continuous block for a task is different from several short gaps between appointments. Meeting load and available recovery buffers also play a part.

The displayed focus time is a planning aid. It does not measure your concentration or performance, and it does not monitor other apps or windows.

What you can do

  • Keep a larger task in one continuous block where possible.
  • Use short gaps for small tasks that need little preparation.
  • Move something if the plan asks more of you than feels right today.
  • Leave a short note when pausing a timer to help you return later.

You can also use DoWat as a task list without scheduling suggestions.

Start with one task. Adjust buffers.
